注意Silicon Valley（硅谷）这个词。它是PET阅读理解里科技类文章的高频地名——"Companies in Silicon Valley are developing new AI technologies."知道Silicon Valley跟chip/silicon的关系，就能理解为什么科技公司集中在那里。一个地名串起一串科技词汇，记忆效率翻倍。
02 商业财经词汇：看懂营收和增长
台积电法说会的新闻里有一组商业财经词汇，在PET阅读的科技新闻里也经常出现。很多孩子认识科技词但不认识商业词，读到"revenue grew 36%"就卡住了。来补上这个缺口。
商业财经6大高频词
① revenue — 营收/收入（不是income，企业用revenue）
② growth — 增长（revenue growth = 营收增长）
③ exceed expectations — 超出预期（exceed = 超过）
④ market share — 市场份额（占多少市场）
⑤ demand — 需求（supply and demand = 供需）
⑥ investment — 投资（invest in = 投资于）
注意exceed expectations这个搭配。它是PET阅读里科技新闻的"标配"表达——"The company's revenue exceeded expectations"意思是公司营收超出了预期。exceed比surpass更常用，记住exceed就够用了。反义表达是fall short of expectations（未达预期），也值得记住。

AI芯片需求爆了——这个"爆"用英语怎么说？不是very big，有一组更地道的表达。
描述科技趋势的句型
▶ The demand for... is soaring.（……的需求激增。soar = 飙升）
▶ ...is driving the growth of...（……正在推动……的增长）
▶ Experts predict that...（专家预测……）
▶ ...is reshaping the industry.（……正在重塑行业）
▶ ...has become a game-changer.（……已成为改变游戏规则的力量）
注意soar这个词。它的意思是"飙升、猛增"，在科技新闻里出现频率极高——"Sales are soaring""Demand has soared""Stock prices soared"。soar比increase有力得多，画面感强——像鸟一样飞上去。PET写作里用soar代替increase，词汇分直接加分。
还有game-changer。字面意思是"改变游戏规则的人或事"，实际意思是"颠覆性力量"。AI就是当今最大的game-changer。"The invention of AI chips has been a game-changer for the technology industry."——用上这个表达，你的科技话题讨论立刻有了深度。
04 中国AI大模型崛起：用英语讲中国科技故事
这次新闻还有一个有意思的角度：越来越多的印度开发者开始转向中国AI大模型，因为成本更低。中国AI正在走向世界——这件事用英语怎么讲？
